Get ready for some PERFORMANCE VIDEO CHALLENGES!
Each month, well are setting out different Performance Challenges where Prodigies students from around the world can submit video performances!
Some months we will compile the best moments from each video challenge and release a compilation mash up, and sometimes it will be a featured solo performance.
This way, the kids who want a little limelight can look forward to seeing themselves on YouTube and Facebook, and we can use our video team to bring together these performances in a unique and shareable way.
Folks who submit a video to the challenge will have a chance to win a different prize each month (Cash Bonuses, Prodigies Gift Cards, Free Membership Passes, Songbooks and Instruments).

February Challenge
Deliverable: Quality video recording of your kids singing along with Skidamarink Due Feb 9th
Prize: Unlimited Submissions Accepted, $50 Cash (total) for each Ambassador who submits at least one video
Goal: To make an epic and sweet “I love you” video for Valentines Day
Process/Tips: Find a good camera angle that frames both the performer(s) and video. Try to limit background noise and be conscious of where the microphone is listening. Now Sing Sign and Play! (Bonus points for rhythmic swaying)

March Challenge
Deliverable: Sight-sing a colorful piece of sheet music. (Rhapsody in Blue series?) Due March 15th
Prize: 5 featured submissions accepted, $100 Giftcard to the Prodigies Shop (unlimited submissions accepted but only 5 videos can win)
Goal: To show the connection between Colorful Prodigies Sheet Music, sight-reading, and pitch
Process/Tips: Find a good camera angle that frames both the performer(s) and the sheet music (can be held or on screen as long as it is visible). Try to limit background noise for clear vocals. (Extra points for hand-signing along!)
April Challenge
Deliverable: Songbook I: My First Songbook play along. This can be done along with a video, instrument, or handsigns – as long as the tune is from Song Book I (Twinkle Little Star, Row Your Boat, Farmer in the Dell, Sweet Beets, Avocado, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hot Cross Buns, On Top of Spaghetti, Avocado, When The Saints Go Marching In, Jingle Bells, Ode to Joy, Old MacDonald) Due April 15th
Prize: 3 submissions accepted max per person, $20 GiftCard to Prodigies Shop
Goal: Add ‘Fun with Songbook I’ videos to our testimonials page
Process/Tips: This one is all about the setting.A well-lit camera angle should capture the subject and the instrument or screen they are using. If the feature is hand-signing, makes sure to fully frame the hands in the shot. (Extra points for attitude!)
May Challenge
Deliverable: Play along with Vivaldi’s Spring Due May 15th
Prize: Unlimited Submissions Accepted, $50 Cash (total) for each Ambassador who submits at least one video
Goal: Show off Classical Prodigies
Process/Tips: Find a good camera angle that frames both the performer(s) and video. Try to limit background noise and be conscious of where the microphone is listening. Now Sing Sign and Play! (Bonus points for a ‘courtly bow’ at the end, MEGA BONUS for performer wearing a powdered wig or other courtly garments!)
June Challenge
Deliverable: Full length ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ play along Due June 15th
Prize: 5-10 submissions will be accepted, $100 Giftcard for the Prodigies Shop per video
Goal: We’re looking for the next summer smash!
Process/Tips: This one again, is all about the setting. Go for a fun summer-themed set with the subject and the instrument or screen they are using framed well. Costumes, lemonade, have as much fun with it as possible – Don’t worry, just be happy! (Bonus points for pure joy!)
