Standards-Alignment?

Prodigies' PreK-5th grades are aligned with the NAfME standards. Follow our 36 lessons (weeks) for each grade, or pull lessons from any grade, playlist, or Index.
The membership includes our standards document for each lesson, as well as LPs and activities.

Instruments?

We feature the deskbells in the majority of our general music lessons, but you can use xylophones, glockenspiels, percussion, recorders, ukuleles, Boomwhackers, piano or any combination of those instruments.

You can jump into the lessons or songs featuring those instruments, or pull up performance tracks that feature multiple instruments to get your ensemble playing together.

By having your kids follow our colorful and fun-to-play sheet music style, you’ll have more freedom to save your voice and float around the room assisting and assessing students one on one.

Fixed or Moveable Do?

We primarily use fixed Do in our lessons, but include moveable Do variations for songs where it makes sense.

Boomwhacker friendly colors?

Yes! Our videos, sheet music, and instruments all use the Chroma-note, color-coded system which matches the Boomwhacker colors.

  • This program has revitalized my 30 year teaching career. Bravo! My students are engaged and learning at a rapid rate. I use it with our xylophones and Boomwhackers with much success.

The video lessons let me float around the room and provide more 1 on 1 instruction, and the older students are loving the recorder program. Plus I can provide better feedback and it’s also saving my voice!

  • I was so passionate about ordering this program for my school, and we finally received the funding 2 years ago. I teach 3 year olds through 4th grade General Music and 5-8 Vocal Music.

Prodigies covers everything that I have taught in the past 30 years in the way that I have always taught it... crazy! My students’ skill have increase dramatically. The recorder program is great for my 4th graders and I have adapted it for my Pre K piano students as well.

    - Jody Nave, Sandusky Central Catholic School

  • I teach K-5 music and the students LOVE the videos. It works great as a music center or whole group activity. I love that Mr. Rob can lead the students as I circulate and provide more one-on-one assistance.

Recorder Prodigies has been so helpful with my older students and the younger ones love singing, playing boomwhackers and xylophones to songs.

  • My students absolutely love the lessons. Mr Rob sets things out so clearly and in a fun way! I’ve tried to teach my students about note values, rests, beat and rhythm, but Mr. Rob makes it clear and fun with short colorful videos that engage my students.

Plus, being able to use the lessons with Boomwhackers, Deskbells or whatever tuned instrument I have on hand allows a lot of flexibility and variety in my lessons.

  • Prodigies has enhanced my PK-5 graders’ music education every year we have used it. The resources are super engaging and provide endless ways to support our curriculum.

I’ve said it over and over to so many music educators and I’ll say it again: it’s the best dollar investment we’ve made for our music students.

    - Mark Camacho, Topeka USD 501

  • I’ve been a public school music educator for 21 years, and have never encountered a better program than Prodigies! With the guided videos and activities, I can observe and help students while the rest of the class continues along with Mr. Rob.

I have all of the most needed musical concepts (pitch, rhythm, demonstration & creation) all in a program that’s fun, colorful, relevant, and best of all, my students love it! I use it with all ages K-12 and you’d be surprised how much my high school choir students even love doing this. Thanks to Mr. Rob for sharing such an innovative program!
