What Is Prodigies?
Prodigies (also called Prodigies Music) is a color-coded music curriculum for kids ages 2 to 12. Kids sing, hand-sign and play their way through 1,000+ video lessons with Mr. Rob, using colorful desk bells, sheet music where every note has its own color, and solfège hand signs. Prodigies was created by Rob Young ("Mr. Rob") and is made by Young Music, LLC.
Here is the big idea. Young kids learn music the way they learn language: by hearing it, playing with it and using it every day, long before they can read it. So we give every note a color, a number, a hand sign and a name, and kids play real songs from day one. We call it meaningful play with pitch during the critical window for auditory development. Over time the colors fade into standard notation on the treble clef, and your kids keep the musical ear they built along the way.

Who is Mr. Rob?
Rob Young is a drummer, a longtime preschool music teacher and a dad of two girls. He started Prodigies after watching how fast little kids pick up pitch when music is colorful, hands-on and a ton of fun. He is also the Sweet Beets guy, so if your kids have ever chanted "beet, beet, cherry beet" at the dinner table... you already know him. Meet the whole team.
